Touche Amore
Touche Amore
Touché Amoré are a thought provoking, passionate hardcore/punk band from Los Angeles, California. From the first strikes of their angular yet melodic chords, it's apparent that Touché Amoré have awoken something long since forgotten in the hardcore/punk genre. Within each song they build an awe inspiring musical tension while impassioned vocalist Jeremy Bolm's shouts resonate, ripe with intellectual introspection. This collective outpouring of traditional hardcore anger and emotional hardcore openness ultimately coalesces into something beautiful, vulnerable, and refreshingly real. Shortly after their formation in late 2007, Touché Amoré released their demo 7"EP on the No Sleep label. After touring the West Coast in support of that release, they recorded their debut album "...To the Beat of a Dead Horse" in early 2009. The album was co-released by the 6131 and Collect (Geoff from Thursday's vinyl only imprint) record labels, and was praised by kids and press worldwide as one of the best releases of the year. Soon after, they hit the road with a wide variety of bands including Converge, Coalesce, Thursday, Envy, Bane, and more. On the heels of these travels, Touché Amoré even managed to release a number of EPs, including splits with friends La Dispute and Make Do And Mend. Touché Amoré will enter the studio this winter to record their new album, to be released on Deathwish in early 2011.
Defeater
Formed in Massachusetts in 2004 and solidified in 2008 from a diverse background of musicians, Defeater is a forward-thinking hardcore band with more to them than just mosh part
Code Orange Kids
Savage, visceral hardcore from the blossoming Pittsburgh, PA scene.
Birds In Row
Birds In Row
Too straight forward and too filthy to get back to the so-called hardcore fanbase that bloomed on Modern Life Is War's grave, too kind to belong to the crust/sludge scene, the three hardworkers from BIRDS IN ROW seem to avoid their city as much as labels. Then you can still wonder where do they take place between Modern Life Is War, Kylesa or Cursed. The first ones for the guts unpacking and their heartbreaking spleen, the second for their punk roughness and their abilities to enlight dirt and the last ones for the urging adrenalin discharges. But it is certainly not that. It is hardcore as it is supposed to be played. Period. With passion, deprived of any splendor and made so they can go stuff some asphalt half of the year. And yet, according to the 3000 miles they're dealing with in a twelve months time, if you haven't seen them less than 20 miles from your home, it can only mean two things : you have no friends, or no taste at all. And if there's not much we can do about the first reason, we can sure work on the other one.
